Embers is a warm and welcoming environment solely for elective home educated children, where they can have fun, feel valued and empowered to become resilient, life long learners, equipped for the 21st century.

Our community enables children to grow holistically, to experience joy and wonder, to have a sense of belonging. The children learn through rich and diverse child-centred experiences, learning through curiosity, intentional play and time in nature. They will learn skills and make memories that will last their lifetime.

With the support of adults and fellow learners, the children will dive into cross curricular, project based activities, following their passions and interests, taking responsibility for their learning in creative and imaginative ways.

Each day at Embers is unique, naturally unfolding & woven together with rhythm. We have no set times apart from Arrival at 10.00am & home time at 3.30pm.

Rhythm Of The Day:

Morning Arrival, Time to settle & Free Choice

By keeping the timings of the day child-centred & flexible, it provides opportunities to deep dive into activities, jump down rabbit holes of interests & provide extra time for rest, relaxation & play when needed

Embers is set in the pretty village of Copythorne in The New Forest, within around 30 minutes drive of Bournemouth, Southampton, Winchester and Salisbury. Set in three acres of open space, complete with large fire circle and access to the common and local footpaths. We run from a large building with multiple rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. We have onsite parking and our Forest Preschool is in the same grounds, perfect for any younger siblings.

Embers Learning Community currently runs term time on a Tuesday and Thursday 10:00AM to 3:30PM. Children aged 5-13 years old can attend up to two sessions a week. We find that Embers and Forest School sessions compliment one another, therefore many children attend a session of each as part of their home education.

Embers Learning Community will be launching sessions from Bransgore September 2022. These sessions will run on a Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00AM to 3.30PM.
